I’m excited about launching this new section to our website! Mental health and wellness have been passions of mine for many years. My work in these fields started over 20 years ago, and I continue to feel re-invigorated as I see the lives of hurting people improve.
For too long, many Christians believed that psychology is evil and that seeking professional help demonstrates a lack of faith. I disagree! Whether you need a few therapy sessions or many or whether you need medicine for a short period of time or a lifetime, your salvation is not in jeopardy. Hopefully, we can come together to challenge these myths. I know the Lord wants us to be whole, mentally, physically, and spiritually. And, He uses people to carry out his ministry of healing.
Now that we’ve come to a new time in our lives, with shelter in place ordinances and a disease in which there is no cure, we need each other more than ever. Many mental health professionals are offering telehealth allowing you to stay in your home while receiving services. Please, do not be afraid to reach out for help. If you don’t know where to start, start with contacting your insurance company to find out your coverage and providers for behavioral health services.
As your sister in Christ, I seek to use this website to provide support to you. Although I will not be providing direct therapy to you, it is my aim to publish helpful newsletters with articles that inform and encourage you. Special thanks to Viola Cage for the newsletter design. There is also a section with therapeutic exercises and activities to assist. Don’t forget to check out the section of resources where you can go for more information.
We are just getting started, so check weekly for updates. If you have questions, concerns or comments, contact me at wanda@hallmyersconsulting.com.
